Marking Time
"Time is an equal opportunity employer. Every human being has exactly the same number of hours and minutes every day. The rich can buy more hours. Scientists can not invent new minutes. And you can save time for another day. Even so, time is amazingly fair and forgiving. No matter how much time lost in the past, tomorrow is still a whole. " ~ Denis Waitely if time were nothing more than a good accessory, it is doubtful that the following phrases that clutter our everyday speech: A point in time ... lost time ... found the time ... Time is money. Compress time ... Time stopped. The time of my life ... The sands of time ... Real Time ... time ... Murder as time passes ... Father time ... Time is on our side. Time worked against her. Time is the greatest leveler in the universe. He or she who uses time wisely wins. Unfortunately, many people have no understanding of time that are always late, annoying the daylights of the best locations. And 'interesting to note that no design or appreciation of time seem to have the remaining time and the goods again. However, do not seem to make the connection. Some even refuse to wear a watch! (I do not like jewelry, groan, lament, groan!) That the celestial bodies, stars, sun and moon clocks served as our first, and before the sundial, the first opportunity breakthrough, for eons. The clock is still the primary function of keeping track of time. Modern watches originated as functional, portable mechanical watches. 19th century watches were often carried in his pocket, and includes a protective cover similar to cover a woman's compact. Often clothing is attached to a string. Wristwatches entered the market in the 19th century as a fashion accessory for women, and the credit goes to Cartier for popularizing the wristwatch with leather strap. The first mechanical wristwatches required manual winding. During the 1950s, Hamilton Watch Company introduced the first powered battery to see, that does not require clearance. The digital clock first appeared in 1970, but digital watches still have not replaced analog watches, in part, to a very successful marketing campaign by Swatch. Towards the end of the 20th century, a consortium of Swiss watchmakers and worldwide graphical designers resurrected the analog watch as a fashion accessory throwaway, and presented the first wild designs in 1983. And "stupid design! Swatches flew off the shelves and remain faithful to its original concept, cheap, fun, bold, Switzerland analog. Along the way, became sundials operated, kinetic motor (winding), lithium power , digital, light emitting diodes (LEDs), liquid crystal display (LDC), and water resistant. Men Watches today typically include a calendar, clock and many women, including a timetable. But why stop there? You can find a clock to meet all your needs. watches today contain calculators, digital cameras, mobile phones and games. There have been several attempts to create a computer clock, but so far, only one made to the market, Ruputer, by Seiko, and did not last long. At that time, proved unmarketable, but stay tuned ... For the high-tech functionality or you prefer to concentrate on the aesthetics of his watch, the clocks are still close to getting a time, that precious, finite commodity around which our daily lives.
