Is Air Travel a Sin?
I travel a lot and someone told me that every flight is irresponsible, because the damage it does to the environment. Last year I went to New Zealand, Italy, Japan, Thailand, Canada, Malaysia and Israel. Was this responsible behavior? Flying is a sin? The Bishop of London, Richard Chartres, certainly thinks so. The Daily Mail says that fly to foreign countries for the holidays is a sin so true that lying and adultery. He argues that "There is now an absolute imperative to walk more slowly in soil and have to make our life decisions in that light." There are people who need to fly to do their job. I know the president of a national professional organization that must be constantly in the air, flying his way across the country to give practical support to different sectors of your organization. You must travel to foreign destinations to establish and maintain open lines of communication with professionals from other countries. It would be very difficult for her to do their work without air transport. My trip to Israel with 24 students are supervised on a journey to learn. I am a teacher and that the business trip was so I'll try not to feel too guilty about it. As I write my travels in numerous publications that I really believe that all my vacations can be considered as related work. Maybe they should not feel guilty about any of them. There are people who need to fly to be with their families. A site invites miles miles used to explore the love of family members "and argues that armed passenger miles" love "must be free of guilt. Often I will see my parents, brothers and sons. What is justified? There are a couple of other factors that make me feel less guilty about the use of large air mileage. I live in a city with great transport system which does not have a car. I walk or on trains and Public buses wherever you go. I have saved countless amounts of carbon emissions to do so. I've also become much more educated and aware citizens of the world because of what I saw and experienced in my travels. I think it balances against some of the damage they have done for the environment. I talked to a man who said he had not flown in an airplane for three years. He said that made him feel more connected with the creation and less culpable for the damage side of the oil wars. It has launched a campaign to Demotorize your soul, that encourages people to adopt healthy lifestyles, avoiding air travel and vacation hundreds of miles from home. I think it makes a good point, but right now, while I am in good health and have the financial resources to travel, I do not think he has the willpower to limit my yen for adventure abroad. Yes, it can be a sin, but every time I I remember my trip wine tasting in New Zealand, and David of Michelangelo in Florence, bathing in the Dead Sea in Israel and see the cherry blossoms bloom in Japan, sorry for sin. I'll try to have a sense of unhealthy guilt the next time you travel, but not enough to ruin the holidays.
