Does age matter?
Donald Trump show, The Apprentice, has attracted the largest audience of the night he was going to have their 4 apprentice. Much of the television is a numbers game that led us to think about the numbers in the series. Randall is 34, Rebecca is 24. No matter what age? It was his ten years of maturity that makes the difference, or whatever you chose to do with those ten years - their formation and management of successful companies? If a candidate 20 something to have a chance against a 30-something candidate? What do you think? It also asks, age is an obstacle to success? Some of us feel old at 40. Our attitude and actions can make any number appear old. What happens if you go around saying to themselves, "I'm too old to (sing in a choir, horseback across the range, place your item here)?" Is it really true? Maybe you're too old to climb mt. Everest, that does not mean that there are still many things to do, regardless of physical limitations. What prevents you from giving concerts, going up the mountain, doing what you really want to do? As coaches, regardless of the "I'm too (insert complaint here)" excuse. There is always a way to change what he wants in a way that can be achieved. Is there a library nearby? Hobby can join the club? Films to be viewed? There are many ways to make learning ... and you can find the essence of their goals and dreams in many different ways. Think about this: • What is it that you said you're too old to do (his mt. Everest)? • When you look at what you've always wanted to do, which is at the heart of it, and where else could find its essence? • Seek support. Getting support lets you do what you want more easily. As coaches, we see that age does not matter. There are 23 years between us and our shared times that are wise and times when we're doing stupid or reckless. We work ethic parties, strong support from our customers, balance in our life interesting and much more. The Age is a number and the amount of stuff as a high pass to the movies and maybe a few more points in the wisdom-O-Meter, but 40 (or 30 or 20) somethings among us have much to offer as well. Our interaction as coaches and seminar leaders in life is enriched with the age difference, perspectives and views. We say "yes" to all and please do the same. That the old support when needed and be prepared to resist using it as an excuse to delay progress on its goals and dreams.
