The biggest trend in Hollywood over the last ten years has been taking the popular comics and graphic novels and turning them into major films. However, there is a graphic novel that has been in development hell for nearly twenty years. That is, until now. The film is Watchmen. It is based on the classic, and many consider the best ever written, the graphic novel by Alan Moore, writer and artist Dave Gibbons.Watchmen takes place in a world that invites the public to imagine what it would be if superheroes existed in 1940. What if there was crime in reality people are dressed in suit and fight? What if the superheroes went to Vietnam in 1960 and won the war? What would the political and social consequences of this type of lifestyle?
